This Eagle breeds in northern Europe and northern Asia.  The largest population in Europe is found along the coast of Norway.  White-Tailed Eagles are nicknamed 'flying barn doors' because of their massive wingspans.  In Scotland, evidence of these birds dates back to 4000BC.  Reintroduced to the west coast of Scotland in the 1970s, this impressive bird now breeds successfully throughout the Western Isles.
